Running Redneck in WinME and Win 2000

**NOTE** I use W98, and haven't tested these methods. I have been told by several people that the WinME fix works great. So far only a few people have emailed me saying the W2000 fix works. This doesn't mean the W2000 fix doesn't work, just means I haven't had a lot of feedback on it.

Windows ME

Brought my pc back to my dealer for something else and brought the redneck cd with me to show them what the problems I was having with the game. Aftersome checking and testing, the tech left clicked on start/programs/interplay/redneck/, then right clicked on the 2nd redneck and clicked properties. (Win Me allows this new feature. cool huh?) Went into programs and check the box called, "prevent ms-dos programs from detecting windows". That's was all we did.

1) Win2k SP1. Use VDMS for sound.

2) Create a shortcut to \WINNT\COMMAND.COM. In the shortcut properties set Compatible Timer Emulation, base memory to 640 and DPMI memory to 65535, and run full screen.

(3) In the game setup, pick your screen resolution, sound and controller setup as needed. Save them.

(4) Exit and find REDNECK.CFG in the game directories. Change SCREENMODE to equal 2.

(5) Run REDNECK.EXE to play.
